Have a stroll around 198 years of Paddington's development in this gallery of paintings & photos from ancient times when aboriginal people lived here, early colonial days of settlement after Europeans arrived, early rapid development precipitated by the building of Victoria Barricks, the land grants, estates & villas, rapid unplanned building of the terrace rows, decline into slums of the 1920s, migrant regeneration in the 50s, the push of the bohemians in the 60s, arrival of the new groovy classes and the rise of activism to save the place.  A visual journey.
